Joy Foster

Joy Foster currently runs 2 Oxford based social enterprises which provide digital solutions to charities and social enterprise while at the same time training and employing teenagers and adults who have been marginalised in the workforce.

Made with Joy has been in operation since November 2014 and is currently being championed by Ben Newton, a new partner. A WordPress development agency, it was set up off the back of a £5000 ‘Do it’ award from UnLtd. Clients of Made with Joy include The Gatehouse, a long standing Oxford charity focused on the homeless and Restore, a nationally recognized charity working to combat mental health stigma. Made with Joy received a second award of £1666 from the Oxfordshire Social Enterprise Partnership and the Oxfordshire LEP in May 2015 to take on employees and now employs 7 people in part time positions.

Joy’s second initiative is TechPixies and was launched in October of 2015. The aim of TechPixies is to help women who have been home raising children upskill and return to work. The first cohort of TechPixies completed a 20 week digital marketing training course in March 2016. TechPixies was generously supported by the Oxfordshire County Council via the Better Broadband for Oxfordshire initiative which was supported by the Government Equalities Office.
